Job Description: Turning Point USA is seeking a Development Events Coordinator to join our team in Phoenix, AZ, and contribute to the planning and execution of our fundraising events—ultimately helping TPUSA and its leadership achieve revenue goals and continue to execute the TPUSA mission and vision.

The Development Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing all donor-facing and donor-related events. This role will work closely with the Director of Development, Sr. Director of Donor Relations, and the team of Major Gift Officers to coordinate and execute fundraising lunches, dinners, large-group donor meetings, and large-scale events, such as the Annual Winter Gala. There will be a high level of exposure to TPUSA donors and Development-related opportunities, and therefore, this position requires a high level of professionalism and confidence at all times.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues;
  • Organizing facilities and details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc;
  • Planning event details and aspects, including event programming, seating, dining, and guest management;
  • Creating reliable budget reports and successfully tracking event revenue via Virtuous;
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of Turning Point USA’s donor base and event attendees;
  • Collaborating with the Development Graphic Design team to design and create beautiful event assets;
  • Work with the Development team to persistently innovate fundraising event procedures;
  • Working closely with TPUSA’s Events team to coordinate fundraising events in coordination with student events;
  • Create communication strategies to increase event RSVPs and meet revenue goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of event planning or relevant administrative experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of Google Drive.
  • Have close personal alignment with the mission and principles of TPUSA.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability to problem solve and think ahead.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills needed to form working relationships with fellow colleagues.
  • Be organized, a self-starter, and goal-oriented.

  • Experience hosting large-scale donor or political events.

  • Use and knowledge of Slack and other office communication platforms.
  • ClickUp and other relevant project management tools.
